En peignant ces bouées alignées sur le Léman, je n’ai pas pu m’empêcher de penser à Ferdinand Hodler et au parallélisme qui caractérise son œuvre.

Dans la répétition des bouées alignées, j’ai voulu rythmer la composition, ordonner la pensée au premier plan avant que le regard ne se perde dans le second plan. Comme deux mondes qui s’opposent, la pensée humaine et cartésienne versus la contemplation de la nature lumineuse et grandiose.

Quel poids représente la présence humaine face aux Alpes et à la puissance de la nature ?

J’ai toujours pensé nos vies comme futiles et éphémères voire dérisoires face à la beauté nature et c’est ce que j’exprime dans mes tableaux.

Je suis finalement une peinture romantique qui cherche le réconfort dans la contemplation…

While painting these buoys aligned on Lake Geneva, I could not help but think of Ferdinand Hodler and the parallelism that characterises his work.

In the rehearsal of the aligned buoys, I wanted to rhythm the composition, order the thought in the foreground before the gaze was lost in the background. Like two opposing worlds, human and Cartesian thought versus the contemplation of luminous and grandiose nature.

What weight does the human presence represent in the face of the Alps and the power of nature?

I have always thought of our lives as futile and ephemeral or even ridiculous in the face of natural beauty and this is what I express in my paintings.

I am finally a romantic painting that seeks comfort in contemplation...

Beim Malen dieser auf dem Léman ausgerichteten Bojen konnte ich nicht anders, als an Ferdinand Hodler und den Parallelismus zu denken, der sein Werk kennzeichnet.
 
Bei der Wiederholung der ausgerichteten Bojen wollte ich die Komposition einprägen, das Denken im Vordergrund anordnen, bevor sich der Blick in den zweiten Plan verirrt. Wie zwei sich widersprechende Welten, das menschliche und kartesische Denken gegen die Betrachtung der leuchtenden und grandiosen Natur.
 
Wie wichtig ist die menschliche Präsenz angesichts der Alpen und der Macht der Natur?
 
Ich habe unser Leben immer als nutzlos und vergänglich oder sogar lächerlich angesichts der natürlichen Schönheit betrachtet, und das ist es, was ich in meinen Bildern ausdrücke.
Ich bin schließlich ein romantisches Gemälde, das Trost in der Kontemplation sucht...
